What happens when justice demands a second ride? Taxi Driver Season 2 brings back the Rainbow Taxi team with more daring missions, emotional stories, and morally complex revenge plots. This season raises the stakes; it’s sharper, bolder, and even more heartfelt, reminding us that true justice often drives through the darkest roads.

Taxi Driver Season 2” is a South Korean television series aired on SBS from February 17, 2023, to April 15, 2023. Directed by Lee Dan and written by Oh Sang Ho, this action-packed revenge series is available to watch on Viki and other streaming platforms.

Plot Summary

Rainbow Taxi is a secret vigilante organization that provides a special service: seeking revenge for its customers. After their last mission, the team disbanded and went back to their normal life, except Kim Do-gi(a former special forces soldier who works as a driver for Rainbow Taxi) and Jang Sung-chul(CEO of Rainbow Taxi and director of Bluebird Foundation).

Do-gi receives a desperate request from a father who is searching for his son, a victim of a human trafficking gang in Vietnam. As Do-gi sets off to Vietnam while Sung-chul helps him from Korea, the former Rainbow Taxi members(Hacker Ahn Go-eun and mechanics Choi Kyung-ku & Park Jin-eon) reunite to help with this case.

Rainbow Taxi once again embarks on its vigilante justice mission, tackling more complex cases while facing cruel enemies. The recruit at Rainbow Taxi, On Ha-jun, starts working as a driver and becomes suspicious of Sung-chul's secret organization.

Ha-jun tries to investigate the Rainbow taxi crew, but he hides the dark secrets and his true identity. As Do-gi and team solve multiple cases, they detect a link that ties all these crimes to a single mastermind known as Bishop.

Bishop is a manipulative criminal who handles large-scale crimes that expand to different industries and connect to powerful figures. Rainbow Taxi confronts this formidable foe while serving justice to their victims.

Bishop devises multiple schemes to beat Do-gi and his team, but they fight with all their might to take down their rival and put a stop to his wicked offences.

My Thoughts

Rainbow Taxi is back with a special service of seeking revenge on behalf of their customers. The team reunites again to solve more complicated and dangerous cases. The cinematography of the show captures the ruthless criminals and their inhumane misdeeds set against the dark vigilante theme.

The whole cast did a commendable job in terms of acting and overall performance. Once again, Lee Je-hoon proved the versatility of a seasoned actor through his exceptionally outstanding performance. His action scenes are absolutely mind-blowing, while the other members of Rainbow Taxi showcased their usual charms and delivered the power-packed season 2 of Taxi Driver.

I loved the scenes where Do-gi and Go-eun pretended to be a married couple; even as an act, they both looked cute together! Not to mention the reunion of Madam Lim and Wang Tao-zi was the most hilarious surprise. This duo never fails to make me laugh!!

The drama is packed with action, comedy, emotions, crime, and vengeance. This season incorporated more large-scale cases and a grand plot revolving around a powerful opponent. It handled the cases inspired by real-world crimes like Black Sun Night club scandal, exposing the dirty truth hidden behind the shining facade.

The series balanced its heavily serious moments with light-hearted humor, making it engaging to watch. If you loved Taxi Driver's first season, don't miss the grander second season, which will capture your attention from the very first episode.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series and definitely recommend watching it. The finale wraps up nicely, but it definitely leaves viewers eager for a third season.

Taxi Driver 2 strikes a perfect balance between thrilling action and emotional storytelling. It’s not just about revenge; it’s about empathy, second chances, and standing up for those who have none. If you loved Season 1, this sequel will take you on a deeper, more powerful ride through the world of justice on wheels.
