In a rush but still want to look great and put together? My quick 5-step makeup guide is here to simplify your routine without sacrificing style. Makeup is an art that requires skill to get the desired outcome, and trust me, it is really time-consuming. We can't waste our precious time drowning ourselves in numerous makeup products, especially when we are short of time. So I'm going to share a quick 5-step makeup guide that will save your time as well as energy.

1. Moisturizer

The very first step of our makeup routine will be moisturizer. After taking a bath or simply washing your face, quickly go for a moisturizer. Use moisturizer according to your skin type. For example, for dry skin, choose a cream-based moisturizer with hydrating components, and for oily skin, use a lightweight gel-based moisturizer. If sunscreen is part of your skincare routine, you can apply it. Just remember to moisturize your face before starting your makeup.

2. Foundation

The second step of our makeup guide will be foundation. After moisturizing, apply a smooth base of foundation that is suitable for your skin using a sponge, brush, or your fingertips. Liquid foundations work best for dry skin, while matte foundations go well with oily skin. Please choose the correct shade of foundation; otherwise, your makeup will not look natural. If the foundation seems too heavy, you can replace it with BB cream or simply apply concealer on the required parts.

3. Powder

The third step will be compact powder. Set your base with powder of your choice, but choose the right shade. The pink powders look good on a cold undertone, while the yellow shade powders are best for a warm undertone. Use a powder puff or a brush for smooth application. Alternatively, you can use loose powder to set your base makeup. Just opt for whatever suits your skin.

4. Eyeliner/Kajal

The fourth step of our makeup guide will be eye makeup. Since this is a quick makeup look, use either eyeliner or kajal. You can choose to apply both for a more enhanced look. Applying eyeliner needs a bit of practice, but once you master it, you can create multiple looks out of it. I also apply mascara to open up the eyes, but you are free to skip this step. Additionally, you can use eyebrow pencil/gel if you have thin eyebrows.

5. Lipstick

The final step of our makeup routine is lipstick. Apply a lipstick of your choice to complete your look. If you want a natural look, then opt for nude shades, and for a bold look, try darker shades of lipstick. There are multiple types of lipstick available in the market, like matte lipstick, liquid lipstick, etc. Choose whichever suits you best. One quick tip: you can use lipstick as a blush, too. Alternatively, you can use tinted lip balm instead of applying lipstick. They come in multiple shades and keep your lips hydrated.
